Cottbus (dpa / bb) - Game operations at the Cottbus State Theater will be suspended until Easter due to the Corona crisis.

The theater announced on Thursday.

This means that the facility is in line with the other Brandenburg theaters and orchestras that have agreed on a joint “Brandenburg Path” with Culture Minister Manja Schüle (SPD).

If, contrary to expectations, the pandemic should develop in such a way that earlier openings are possible, the stages and orchestras want to resume play as soon as possible - even if with restrictions.

The Cottbus State Theater had actually planned its reopening for March.

Restaurants, museums, theaters and leisure facilities have been closed since the beginning of November.

The Brandenburgers have to live with the corona lockdown until at least mid-February.

The cabinet extended the restrictions on Thursday through February 14.

According to the theater, rehearsals will also be suspended until February 28, 2021 due to the current pandemic situation.

The multi-discipline house, in which theater, drama, music theater and ballet are under one roof, is already in the starting blocks with numerous productions.
