Schwerin (dpa / mv) - After the federal-state resolution to extend the lockdown in Germany until February 14, the Schwerin state parliament is today in a special session discussing the next steps in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD) has announced a government statement.

She was able to largely avert further restrictions for daycare centers and schools in the switch between the Prime Minister and Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) on Tuesday evening.

However, from next Monday in the districts of Ludwigslust-Parchim and Vorpommern-Greifswald only emergency care can be offered because the seven-day incidence there is over 150.

This restriction already applies in the Mecklenburg Lake District.
