January 21, 2021The toll from the explosion that occurred yesterday in a building in the center of
Madrid, near the Toledo Gate, due to a gas leak,
rose to four deaths
.
El Paìs reports this, citing the archbishopric of Madrid and explaining that the fourth victim is a 36-year-old priest who had been hospitalized in the La Paz hospital, Ruben Perez de Ayala, who died of his injuries.
The other victims are two passers-by and a technician who was at work in the building.
Ten other people were injured.
The mayor of Madrid, Josè Luis Almeida, announced that the upper floors affected by the explosion, at least four, will be demolished in a controlled manner.
