Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The digital learning platform Logineo operated by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia is now also available with video conference technology.

School Minister Yvonne Gebauer (FDP) announced on Thursday in Düsseldorf that the function could be activated by the schools via www.logineo.nrw.de.

An initial registration for Logineo is possible via the same address.

Teachers would have the opportunity to invite their students to video conferences, to convey and discuss teaching content in direct exchange, and to discuss tasks or answer questions.

Slide shows could also be shared through it.

“A video conference cannot replace face-to-face teaching,” admitted Gebauer.

But at least it offers the opportunity for a face-to-face exchange - “an indispensable basis for successful learning processes”.

According to the ministry, Logineo already reaches thousands of schools in North Rhine-Westphalia with various free offers.

If necessary, they also receive support from around 180 media consultants across the country.

The Greens emphasized that schools finally needed this function.

However, the ministry did not use the long time to consistently dispel data protection concerns, criticized her education expert Sigrid Beer.

Gebauer had declared on Wednesday in the school committee of the state parliament that at least no hacker attacks on Logineo had become known.
