January 21, 2021 The Ocean Viking ship of the NGO Sos Méditerranée rescued 120 people aboard an overloaded dinghy in distress off the Libyan coast, 36 nautical miles from the Libyan coast.
According to the NGO's Twitter account, "among the survivors there are four children, the youngest is only one month old".
"The castaways are visibly shaken and exhausted". Sos Mediterranee Italia writes it on Twitter.
Yesterday the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) reported at least 43 migrants who died in the shipwreck that occurred on January 19 off the Libyan coast. Ten survivors brought back to Libya by the Libyan authorities.
