Trier (dpa / lrs) - A man triggered a major police operation with an alleged bomb at the Trier district court on Thursday.

An emergency call was reported in the early afternoon: A man was standing in the entrance area of ​​the court and had said that he had a bomb with him, the police in Trier said.

Thereupon the area around the district court was cordoned off and all available police officers were sent there.

Shortly thereafter, the all-clear: the police arrested the 63-year-old in the courthouse.

He did not have any dangerous items with him.

The man was taken to the police station to clarify the incident.

The investigation continues.

The man did not threaten in court that a bomb would go off, said a police spokesman.

He was in the building and said that he had a bomb with him.
