UN chief Antonio Guterres “warmly” welcomed this measure, while calling on Joe Biden to set new “ambitious” climate goals for the United States.

Appointed Special Envoy for the Climate, John Kerry said that the return of the United States to this agreement "restored America's credibility", but was only a starting point.
