In total, 17 decrees signed in the Oval Office, in front of the cameras.

Which in a way sets the tone for the policy Joe Biden intends to pursue.

The first requires the wearing of a mask in federal buildings.

A measure which in most cases is already in effect, but it shows that the president is determined to fight against the spread of Covid-19.

Joe Biden also announced the

return of the United States to the Paris climate agreement

.

He annulled the decisions taken by Donald Trump which notably authorized oil drilling in protected areas.

A way of asserting its intention to seriously consider environmental issues.

Path to citizenship for illegals

The new American president has also guaranteed the protection of

dreamers,

these young people who arrived irregularly when they were minors on American territory, suspended the construction of the wall at the border.

On the issue of immigration, he even sent a first bill to Congress.

The text has provided for a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants for several years in the United States under certain conditions, and it reaffirms the country's commitment to remain a land of welcome, of refuge for persecuted people.

It is therefore the opposite of Donald Trump's policy that Joe Biden took upon his arrival at the White House.

The president wants a united America,

open to the world

and respectful of the environment.
