Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Has the Ministry of Health in the southwest possibly delivered masks of poor quality to schools?

The philologists' association expressed this suspicion at the end of last year and requested tests of the KN95 masks.

Now Minister Manne Lucha (Greens) has been able to dispel the doubts with the help of the Dekra auditors.

In a letter to the Minister of Education, Susanne Eisenmann (CDU), which the dpa has received, the Green politician writes: The concerns of the teachers' association could not be confirmed.

Dekra carried out random samples from different batches of the fleece-made KN95 masks from Ryzur. In addition, further samples were drawn from schools. The review did not confirm the measurements of the Philologists Association, according to which the masks only had a filtration performance of 85 percent. Values of over 99 percent were measured when using the test method for FFP2 masks. This was only slightly undercut with one mask.
