Munich (dpa) - Siemens has made a good start to its new fiscal year.
According to preliminary figures from the divisions, which the group published on Thursday evening, sales, incoming orders and operating profit developed mostly better than expected in the first quarter of the financial year.
The company benefited from growth in China and lower costs due to the corona pandemic, for example for travel and marketing.
In particular, the Digital Industries division significantly exceeded earnings expectations.
According to Siemens, he benefited from a strong development in the automation and software business.
Smart Infrastructure also performed better than expected.
Only Mobility fell slightly short of expectations in terms of sales and earnings.
The group now wants to review its forecast for the current financial year.
Siemens will publish the full figures on February 3 before its Annual General Meeting.
