Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The police union GdP is calling for a better infrastructure for police employees so that they can also work from home.

"The demands of the federal government on the companies should also apply to the public service and thus to the police," said Hans-Jürgen Kirstein, state chairman of the GdP Baden-Württemberg, on Thursday.

"The pandemic and the infection process will be with us for a long time to come, so the state of Baden-Württemberg must not only address its regulation to the private sector, but also implement it in the public sector itself."

Many workplaces in the police force could well be relocated to the home office, and daily solutions are also conceivable here.

"We welcome an expansion of work in the home office, but the appropriate infrastructure for the employees must be provided by the country," explained Kirstein.
