Mainz (dpa / lrs) - The CDU state parliamentary group presented an opinion on the recruitment and promotion practice of the Rhineland-Palatinate state government on Thursday.

In it, the government's response to a major request from the CDU to deal with the transport affair in the environment ministry led by the Greens is criticized as inadequate.

The answer from the state government leaves questions unanswered, said the Würzburg professor of public law, Ralf Brinktrine, commissioned by the Union.

"That could have been formulated more clearly and precisely, so that one could get a better insight into the matter."

In his opinion, the answers to the transport sector give rise to further questions, “so that one can finally assess that”.

And: "There are considerable doubts as to whether civil service requirements have been met".

CDU parliamentary group leader Christian Baldauf accused the state government of an “attempt to deceive and camouflage”.

"We can't let that go," he said.

The legal assessment presented on Thursday should also be a topic in the state parliament next week.

The big request was triggered by a promotion affair in the Ministry of the Environment, which ultimately led to the resignation of Minister Ulrike Höffken (Greens).
