Erfurt (dpa / th) - The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) Erfurt begins on Monday with telephone advice for students and parents on training opportunities.

The IHK announced on Thursday that there are currently more than 660 apprenticeship positions in companies from industry, trade and services in Thuringia.

Despite the lockdown, the willingness to train in the companies in northern, central and western Thuringia is unbroken.

"Unclear job ideas and lack of knowledge about open apprenticeships and training companies are often the greatest challenge in bringing young people and companies together", explained Tobias Krombholz, Training Team Leader at the IHK Erfurt.

Advice over the phone when looking for a suitable apprenticeship position is particularly important now, as hardly any career orientation measures or contact exchanges have taken place in the past few months.
