The alleged offenses are "use or administration of drugs or other substances in order to alter the competitive performance of athletes" and "abusive exercise of the medical profession".
Since the start of the investigation in 2019, 26 suspects have been under investigation for various reasons.
The starting point of the investigation was the seizure of anabolic drugs (oxandrolone-based steroids, stanozolol and emetenolone) from a person linked to the world of bodybuilding.
Substances that the "bodybuilder" took to improve performance in competitions.
A machine that was well oiled: the drugs arrived illegally from abroad and then in anonymous packages made out to nominees were delivered by various couriers, unaware of the traffic, to sportsmen and athletes.
The substances were taken to improve performance in national and international competitive competitions, but only after following the physical preparation prescribed by the main suspects, leaders of their respective 'teams'.
Seized 58 packs, 210 vials, 1722 tablets, 13 blisters 51 substances for small injections.
A trade that has been quantified a net income of about 15,000 euros a year for each of the three people subjected to house arrest.
