This Wednesday morning, a fire broke out in a warehouse of the logistics company Caillot, in Bailleul, in the North, we learned from the firefighters.

The building housed thousands of pallets of candy ready to be shipped across France.

The fire started shortly before 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning, avenue de l'Europe, in a warehouse made up of two cells of 5,000 m2 each.

The fire, described as violent by the firefighters, quickly spread to the entire building.

Forty vehicles and more than 60 firefighters were mobilized to overcome the flames.

7,500 pallets of Lutti candies

The warehouse was completely destroyed by the fire, along with all the merchandise it contained.

There were 7,500 pallets, mainly Lutti brand candies in transit through this logistics company.

According to firefighters, the incident did not claim any victims.

Only one person "slightly inconvenienced by the fumes" was taken care of.

An investigation has been opened to try to determine the causes of the fire.

It will also be a question of quantifying the damage, the definitive extent of which is still unknown.
