Gårdgen's statistics from FHM show that Region Värmland has delivered 2,677 doses to the county's municipalities out of 11,521 received or approximately 23 percent.

- The compilation shows the situation as it looked after last week.

In addition to this, we have delivered approximately 2,500 doses this week, says Anders Nordmark, vaccine coordinator, in a press release.

Some municipalities could not get started earlier

According to the first planning, Värmland's municipalities would start the vaccination this week.

Then came the news that the region would receive the vaccine earlier than expected, which meant that some municipalities could start before the planned date.

- Some municipalities had had time to prepare enough to be able to start earlier than planned and then it felt natural to start as soon as possible.

However, not everyone has had the opportunity to change in that way, but as of this week, all municipalities will be up and running.

"Do not hold the vaccine"

So far, the vaccine ordered within the correct priority group has been sent out.

Region Värmland has delivered the doses that the municipalities have requested and announced that they are able to give to the residents.

- I want to emphasize that we do not hold the vaccine, but we ensure that the vaccine is available for dose 2 at the right time by carefully planning deliveries and deliveries.

This so that people who have received the first dose can be completely vaccinated, says Anders Nordmark.

"Not a competition"

The hope from the region is that Värmland will soon reach a higher vaccination rate.

- It is not strange at all that people react when this is set up in a table and Värmland is at the bottom.

But it is important to remember that vaccination is not a competition.

We want to ensure that the residents receive a safe and secure vaccination, says Anders Nordmark.
