At around 3:30 am in the night from Monday to Tuesday, 27 students were arrested while participating in a clandestine party in an apartment in the center of Reims, in defiance of the curfew rules.

They were mostly from the Reims business school Néoma and the Sciences-Po Reims campus and none wore a mask, the Reims prosecutor's office said on Tuesday, confirming information from the daily

"The tenant of the apartment was taken into custody for endangering the lives of others," said prosecutor Matthieu Bourrette.

Aged 20 and unknown to the police, the girl was released from police custody later that day.

The prosecution ultimately did not retain the “endangerment of others” but the nightly noise and “public and manifest intoxication”.

She will have to do a citizenship internship.

"In the current health and social situation, I assume this immediate penal response, from custody to the alternative measure", explained Matthieu Bourrette, describing a "sheepish and repentant" student who was "overwhelmed" during this evening.

Twenty-three other students were fined for "public and manifest intoxication".
