Due to the explosion, the shaft was piled up with drainage pipes, wires and cables, steel wire ropes, pipe beams, ladder spacers and other items. The situation was complicated and it was difficult to clear the obstacles.
Ma Jixiang, a member of the technical expert group of the Emergency Rescue Command, told reporters that up to now, the shaft has been cleared to 350 meters.

According to Ma Jixiang, after No. 3 borehole was penetrated, some water was introduced, which threatened the living environment of underground personnel. Therefore, it was decided to use No. 4 borehole as a backup life-sustaining channel.
At the same time, the No. 9 drilling operation is underway. The No. 9 drilling rig will drill diagonal holes through the surface and continue to search for the remaining missing workers.
On the afternoon of the same day, the No. 10 borehole was officially drilled. The borehole has a diameter of 710mm and will be used as a life rescue channel.

The Qixia Sky Blue charity team sent more than 4,000 warm babies on the 20th to add warmth to rescue workers.
Volunteers from Qixia Starlight Service Center are busy making dumplings and making noodle fish and other food every day. They have to process more than 3,200 dumplings and other food in six or seven hours and deliver them to rescuers on time in the evening.

"Our volunteer team now has nearly 400 people serving for this rescue. Everyone comes from all walks of life in Qixia City. Part of the money used to purchase items comes from volunteers, and part of it comes from donations from caring people in the society."
