Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - At the digital Green Week, Saxony-Anhalt awarded food from the state the organic regional prize for the fifth time.

Agriculture Minister Claudia Dalbert (Greens) awarded the prize to a cabbage goulash, hemp bread and organic beet syrup in a live broadcast from the ministry on Wednesday.

"All three winners are equally winners - there is no first, second or third place," said the Agrarmarketing Gesellschaft Sachsen-Anhalt (AMG).

"Your applications were both convincing and mature in their development and market readiness, so that the jury decided not to award just one product."

The cabbage goulash from Bio-Terrine from Bismark, the bread “hemp oat crust” from the Development Office for Organic Farming and Innovation GmbH and the organic syrup from Gut Edlau convinced the jury above all with the use of regional ingredients: All three products essentially consist of Grain and vegetables from Saxony-Anhalt.

Despite the difficult conditions under which the Green Week takes place this year, there were many applicants for the award, said AMG.

Twelve companies submitted 30 products, including muesli and grain products, vegan canned dishes, coffee and tea.

With the award, which is awarded exclusively to organic products that are not yet on the market, the state wants to promote innovations in the food industry, which is important for Saxony-Anhalt.
