Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - Visitors in Hessian old people's and nursing homes will have to present a negative corona test in the future.

The Prime Minister Volker Bouffier (CDU) announced on Wednesday in Wiesbaden.

A quick test that every visitor can organize himself would suffice.

"The basic idea is to do everything possible to protect the elderly in this area," said Bouffier.

"We also believe that this is feasible without additional burden on the homes."

So far there is already a compulsory test for the staff twice a week.

The previous 15 km radius regulation for regions with more than 200 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within 7 days will no longer apply, announced Bouffier.

"The real sense and purpose is that we protect places that are particularly frequently visited from being overloaded and also restrict contacts accordingly," said Bouffier.

The best way to do this is to block these areas on site - such as parking spaces and driveways.

Previously, in such areas, the radius of movement was restricted to a radius of 15 kilometers from the place of residence for day-trip trips.

The general ban on alcohol in public is specified in the words of Bouffier.

In future, this ban will apply in busy public places.

"If someone then drinks alcohol alone in the forest, then that is not necessarily healthy, but probably not particularly infectious."
