Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - Due to the corona, Saxony-Anhalt's left is postponing the party conference planned for January 29 on the election program for the state election.

It should now take place in March - how exactly, but depends on the further development of the pandemic, the party announced on Wednesday in Magdeburg.

A face-to-face party convention on March 20, as well as a hybrid party convention with a digital part on March 19 and a face-to-face part the day after, and a completely digital version on March 19, would be possible.

The election campaign for the state elections on June 6, 2021 will be the focus of the party congress.

The election program is intended to present the voters with the political offer of the left.

The draft for it was already in place, it said.

It was published on the Internet.

"We will use the time that is not entirely voluntary until the decision on the state election program is passed for further debates in various online formats," it said.

The state representative assembly originally planned for January 30th and 31st to draw up the list for the state elections will only take place on January 30th with a streamlined program according to the current status.

But there are still changes possible, said a party spokesman.
