Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - The agricultural fair Green Week starts on Wednesday in Berlin.

For the first time, the fair will take place digitally between Wednesday and Thursday.

Various films, live broadcasts and discussions are planned, as announced by the organizers.

Saxony-Anhalt will also participate in the design of the program with three contributions.

Environment Minister Claudia Dalberg (Greens) will award the winners of a regional organic prize in a live broadcast on Wednesday.

Only regional and organically certified products that have not yet been on the market were admitted to the competition.

According to the Agrarmarketinggesellschaft Sachsen-Anhalt, the prize is intended to promote product innovations.

The company organizes the trade fair appearance on behalf of the Ministry of the Environment.

A video contribution from the state shows the course of the “Culinary Saxony-Anhalt” competition.

"This is about sensor technology, about the taste experience," explained the head of the agricultural marketing company, Jörg Bühnemann.

In addition, insights into three companies that have already received awards in previous years would be given.

The third article shows the special features of regional added value from production to sales.

For example, a farmer from fir (Harz) and the work in a Stendal barn shop were accompanied with the camera.

The aim is to reflect the diversity of the food industry in the country through the contributions, said Bühnemann.
