Baden-Baden (dpa / lsw) - Despite stricter corona measures, the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden is optimistic about Easter.

"We are currently relying on the Easter Festival as the restart of gaming operations," said Artistic Director Benedikt Stampa of the German Press Agency.

From March 27 to April 5, several operas and concerts are planned under the heading “From Russia with Love: The Easter Festival with the Berlin Philharmonic Looking East”.

"Since we don't have an ensemble that can start work again at any time, the" start-up times "are a bit longer for us per se," explained Stampa.

"This is where festivals differ considerably from repertoire and ensemble houses."

The Festspielhaus also has to take travel and quarantine regulations into account, since the artists are not in Baden-Baden.

“We also expect from politicians that the theaters and concert halls will be reopened when the catering and retail sectors are up and running again,” said Stampa.

"Our hygiene concepts are tried and tested and effective."

At the moment it is not possible to book tickets for most of the events planned to date for this year, concerts at the end of January have either been canceled or postponed to 2022.
