Tübingen (dpa / lsw) - The Tübingen emergency doctor Lisa Federle criticizes that there is no correct strategy against Corona in Germany.

“The new resolutions of the federal government are understandable.

What is not understandable at all: where is the strategy? »Said Federle on Wednesday in Tübingen.

Because the vaccinations were delayed due to delivery bottlenecks and the new mutation was spreading, the situation was becoming more dramatic.

"And one of the most important preventive measures - the rapid tests - the government leaves out," explained Federle.

There are enough people, such as rescue workers, police officers and taxi drivers, who are exposed to the virus on a daily basis and cannot hope for a vaccination anytime soon.

"We are obliged to protect them with free rapid tests," said the DRK district association president.

There is an immediate opportunity to carry out 60 to 70 million approved rapid tests per month in Germany.

Federle had equipped a doctor's mobile with a mobile corona test station and started systematic tests in old people's and care facilities in Tübingen.

In the second Corona wave, she bought corona rapid tests with the help of donations and has since been offering free rapid tests for everyone in downtown Tübingen.

The campaign was extended to other cities by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Social Affairs in the run-up to Christmas.

The federal and state governments decided on Tuesday evening to extend the lockdown, which was initially planned until the end of January, with the closure of numerous facilities until mid-February.

In addition, there are additional requirements for better protective masks in buses, trains and shops as well as for more work in the home office.
