Egypt announces agreement to resume diplomatic relations with Qatar

Egypt decided to resume diplomatic relations with Qatar, in compliance with the decisions of the Al-Ula summit.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement today, Wednesday, that “in connection with the implementation steps in the framework of implementing the reciprocal commitments contained in the Al-Ula statement, Egypt and Qatar exchanged two official memoranda, whereby the two countries agreed to resume diplomatic relations between them.”

The Egyptian authorities had decided to operate a daily flight between Cairo and the Qatari capital, Doha, as of Monday, after the decision to return direct flights and open Egyptian airspace and airports to Qatari aircraft.
