Potsdam (dpa / bb) - The economic committee of the state parliament meets this morning (10:00 a.m.), among other things, on Corona aid for companies.

At the request of the coalition groups, the Ministry of Economic Affairs will report on the status of the disbursement of the November and December aid.

Minister Jörg Steinbach (SPD) had announced that the November aid payments for companies affected by the Corona crisis could begin.

According to Steinbach, applications for December aid are expected to be processed by the end of January.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs also wants to provide information about the economic situation of hotels and restaurants, art and cultural institutions and the status of insolvencies in the corona pandemic.

A survey by the Hotel and Restaurant Association Brandenburg (Dehoga) had shown that 70 percent of hotels and restaurants see their existence at risk in the corona pandemic.

Another agenda item in the committee is the status of the settlement of the US electric car manufacturer Tesla in Grünheide near Berlin.

Shortly before the end of the deadline, the company had deposited a security deposit required by Brandenburg for the further construction of the factory.

No construction stop had to be imposed.

The final environmental approval for the entire factory in accordance with the Federal Immission Control Act is still missing.

That is why Tesla is building in individual steps through early approvals.
