Dortmund (dpa / lnw) - With Tempo 30 and additional speed cameras at night, the city of Dortmund wants to make the Wallring, popular in the tuning scene, unattractive for speeders.

From Friday, a limit of 30 kilometers per hour will apply on the entire street in the city center between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., the city announced on Wednesday.

The regulatory office announced that it would expand the previous speed monitoring measures.

Mobile measuring vehicles are to be used in addition to the existing flashing systems at night on weekends.

Tickets against the speeders should also be processed with priority in order to achieve a greater effect through the direct connection with the misconduct, it said.

According to the police, there are always illegal drag races in the Ruhr area town, significant traffic hazards and high levels of noise at night from horn concerts and loud music.

Especially during the lockdown, there were repeated meetings like this on the Wallring, at which hundreds of drivers wanted to convert the three-lane road into a race track or use it to pose with their cars.
