A 102-year-old Japanese-American man has recovered after being infected with the new coronavirus, and said, "The man has overcome the'Spanish flu'100 years ago and is a miracle person." It has become a hot topic.

The man, a Japanese-American Nishii Yoshio, who lives in the southern Brazilian city of Curitiba, is 102 years old and was infected with the new coronavirus last month and recovered after about three weeks of fighting illness.

According to Brazilian media reports from Nishii and his family, Nishii was infected with the "Spanish flu" that was prevalent in Osaka at an early age about 100 years ago. Although many of his relatives have died, Mr. Nishii has recovered.

For this reason, many Brazilian media have repeatedly reported, "I am 102 years old, a miracle that survived two pandemics. I gave Brazil hope."

Mr. Nishii told NHK's telephone interview on the 19th, "Always thinking positively and not sticking to small things is the secret to overcoming illness."
