Turkish Trade Minister Rohsar Bakcan confirmed that Turkish contracting companies have so far implemented 10 thousand and 525 projects worth 418.7 billion dollars in 128 countries around the world since 1972.

In a press statement today, Tuesday, in the capital, Ankara, the minister indicated that the value of projects implemented by Turkish contracting companies in 2020 alone amounted to $ 14.4 billion.

Bakjan expressed her expectation that the total size of the Turkish contracting sector projects will exceed 15 billion dollars in 2021.

In a previous report, Anadolu Agency reported that the projects led by Turkish contractors are distributed between different continents, most notably the Asian and European continents, including urban and commercial projects, in addition to airports.

During the year 2019, Turkish contractors adopted 438 projects worth 18 billion dollars, on top of which are road projects, tunnels and bridges.

A few days ago, Anadolu Agency quoted Medhat Yenikon, head of the Contractors Union in Turkey, as saying, "We are trying to overcome the effects of the Corona crisis and the uncertainty that dominates global markets, and we continue to work outside the country in order to reach the level of 20 billion dollars as an annual volume of foreign projects and protect the position of the contracting sector Turkish ".

The magazine "ENR" (ENR) specialized in the international construction sector ranked Turkey in the second place after China in the list of "the 250 largest international contractors around the world, in terms of the number of contracting companies spread in the countries of the world."
