Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - In the process of a life-threatening knife attack among drug dealers, the verdict is expected today (from 11 a.m.) before the Frankfurt Regional Court.

The prosecution had requested a prison sentence of three and a half years for attempted manslaughter and drug trafficking for the 31-year-old defendant.

The 31-year-old had admitted that he attacked his opponent with a knife in April last year after a dispute over outstanding debts.

Before that, the two reportedly had a fight in the Bornheim district of Frankfurt.

The defendant pleaded self-defense in the attack.

His defense attorney therefore requested an acquittal.
