On January 18, local time, the U.S. Capitol and the neighboring Senate and House offices were temporarily blocked due to a fire in the nearby area.

The US Secret Service said the incident did not pose a threat to the public.

According to US media reports, on the morning of the 18th, due to "external security threats", the US Congressional police closed the passages to and from the Capitol building and required people in the building to stay indoors. People participating in the rehearsal of the president's inauguration on the west side of the building were evacuated from the scene.

According to reports, a fire broke out in a homeless camp about 1.6 kilometers away from the Parliament building that day, and the fire was subsequently extinguished.

Congressional police said that there were no fires inside or outside the Capitol and the blockade was taken out of cautious consideration.

The US Secret Service, which is responsible for the security of the president's inauguration, stated that the incident did not pose a threat to the public.
