"Two strategic missile carriers Tu-160 performed a planned flight in airspace over the neutral waters of the Arctic Ocean, the Barents and White Seas," RIA Novosti reports.

It is noted that the flight duration was more than 14 hours.

The department said that the missile carriers worked out refueling in the air.

It is also reported that long-range aviation pilots regularly fly over the neutral waters of the Arctic, North Atlantic, Black and Caspian Seas, and the Pacific Ocean.

The Ministry of Defense stressed that "all flights of aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces are carried out in strict accordance with the International Rules for the Use of Airspace."

Earlier, Newinform reported that novice pilots of the ZVO conducted the first flights over St. Petersburg after a pilot training course.
