Topolsky said that there was no city telephone service at the Consulate General for about two days.

“We are not talking about one, two or three, but about several dozen telephone lines, which were, in fact, cut off from communication at a time,” he said.

According to him, because of this, huge problems arise for the Russian diaspora living in the consular district.

“They cannot simply contact the consulate, set a date for a visit to the consulate on issues of interest to them,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Also, the consulate does not have the opportunity to use communication on a business need basis.

Topolsky added that the American side has not yet been able to eliminate "some technical problems" due to which the telephone connection was cut off.

Earlier, the Russian Consulate General in New York cut off telephone lines.
