About 90 out of 280 buses in SL's inner city traffic have now received safety glass and thus the front doors can open again.

First out are the blue trunk buses on lines 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 - the bus lines that normally have the most passengers.

According to Fredrik Cavalli-Björkman, traffic director at the traffic administration, the safety glass meets high standards regarding infection protection and safety for both driver and passenger.

- This means that we can open up the entire bus, which gives more space on board and helps to reduce congestion on the inner city buses and that you can get your ticket in front of the driver again, he says in a press release.

The traveler must pay attention

During a transition period, there will be buses both with and without safety glass.

The only way for the traveler to know what applies is if the driver opens the front or rear doors.

Staff will assist travelers to make boarding smoothly and safely.
