Munich (dpa / lby) - After people repeatedly break into the ice of frozen lakes, the police are warning of thin ice on Bavarian waters.

On Tuesday the officials in Munich had to move out in the English Garden because many people had gone to the ice surface of the Kleinhesseloher See.

At the edge of the lake, some broke in, but there were no injuries, said a police spokesman.

But there were still more citizens on the ice, he said.

The police in Neu-Ulm also warned of fragile ice surfaces.

"In the past few days, people have repeatedly been found on the ice surface who obviously underestimated the dangerous situation," reported a police spokesman.

At the weekend, a family of four broke into the ice at Kuhsee in Augsburg.

Witnesses were able to save the couple and two daughters.

According to the police, around 300 people were on the thin ice of the popular lake during the accident.
