Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - After weeks of delays, almost 1,700 companies in Saxony-Anhalt received the November aid they had requested within a few days.

The state's own investment bank has paid 15.6 million euros to them so far, as the Ministry of Economic Affairs announced on Tuesday.

According to the announcement, more than 40 percent of the 3812 companies that applied for November aid are covered.

The state compensation had been promised at the end of October for those companies that had to close due to the corona restrictions ordered.

Since then, the payment has been delayed several times, most recently due to technical problems.

For this reason, the federal government initially only paid discounts directly to companies or transferred smaller amounts of up to 5000 euros in full to self-employed people.

In the Anhalt affair, around 24 million euros were initially paid out; the greater part of the promised aid could not be given.

The federal government's online platform, which the states and their banks use to check and approve the applications submitted, has been in operation for a week.

But things are still not going very smoothly: According to the ministry, more than 960 November aid could not be approved because the necessary files could not be downloaded from the federal platform.

The federal government is working to fix the problem, it said.

Entrepreneurs who are affected by the Corona restrictions can apply for November aid until the end of January, there is also December aid and the so-called bridging allowance.

These funds must be paid out in good time, warned Saxony-Anhalt's Minister of Economics Armin Willingmann (SPD).

It must therefore be ensured that the online platform works.
