Paris / Berlin (dpa) - In autumn, a new adventure of the invincible Gauls will appear again.

This time Asterix and Obelix are drawn far into the distance.

They should come to the aid of a good friend of Miraculix's.

The new comic book will go on sale worldwide on October 21 with a circulation of around five million copies, around two million of which are intended for the French market.

According to the French publisher "Albert René" and the Berlin media company Egmont Ehapa, more information about the new band by the duo Jean-Yves Ferri and Didier Conrad will be available in the spring.

The 39th volume of Asterix is the first to appear after the death of Albert Uderzo, co-inventor of the comic book characters.

That was the last adventure that Uderzo had approved, said Isabelle Magnac, the managing director of “Hachette Livre”, the majority owner of Albert René, in an interview with the specialist magazine “Livres Hebdo”.

The draftsman died in March 2020 at the age of 92.

Together with the copywriter René Goscinny, he started the Asterix adventure at the end of the 1950s.

After his death in 1977 Uderzo continued the series alone.

In early 2009, he increasingly withdrew.

The first Asterix volume by Ferri and Conrad was published in 2013.
