The cost of the work of excavating the illegally dumped battery waste south of Örebro can amount to SEK 2.4 million, reports P4 Örebro.

The explanation for the high bill is that they have had to dig up more contaminated soil than expected at the site.

The cost is something that the taxpayers currently have to pay for if the municipality does not succeed in demanding money back from the bankruptcy estate to one of the responsible companies.
