Berlin (dpa / bb) - The chairman of the Berlin health committee, Wolfgang Albers, calls for significantly more rapid tests in nursing homes.
"If I imagine that we have recognized our old people's and nursing homes as hotspots and that the people who live in them need special protection, then it is completely incomprehensible why the staff is not tested daily," said left politician on Tuesday the RBB-Inforadio.
"Those who are negative come to service, those who are positive go home."
Testing several times a week is not enough, said the health politician.
The capacities for daily tests are there, and financially it is not a big expense.

Rapid tests are very well suited to enable social activities and activities again, said Albers.
