A thief has allowed himself to criticize the attitude of a mother whose car he had stolen this Saturday in Beaverton, Oregon (United States).

The perpetrator had grabbed the vehicle, left open and walking right in front of a store.

After driving off, the suspect found that a 4-year-old was in the backseat, reports

The man then turned around, returning to the scene of the theft.

He ordered the mother to get her child out of the car before fleeing again.

The mother was not at fault

The individual however took the time to lecture the victim, criticizing him for leaving his child in the SUV.

He threatened to call the police to denounce his negligence, said a spokesperson for the city police.

The woman had parked right outside the door of a grocery store.

She had never strayed more than five meters from her car.

An employee of the store confirmed that the mother had only been there for a few minutes when someone moved her vehicle.

"She did not commit a crime," commented the police spokesperson.

The police are pleased that the perpetrator "had the decency" to bring back the child.

The car and the suspect were still wanted on Sunday.
