Cochem (dpa / lrs) - A dispute between a couple escalated on Tuesday night in Cochem (Cochem-Zell district).
A 40-year-old man called the police because he suspected a 20-year-old acquaintance in a dangerous situation with her 39-year-old boyfriend, the police said.
He heard her scream on the phone before the conversation broke off.
The police were only able to find verbal arguments between the drunk couple on site.
When the 40-year-old acquaintance met the couple a short time later, he was threatened with a knife by the 39-year-old.
The police also found superficial cuts in the woman that she claimed to have inflicted on herself.
Her boyfriend had to spend the night away from the apartment.
The acquaintance offered the woman a place to stay, which she refused because she was not allowed to take her cat with her.
