As Europe 1 revealed on Monday, 49 passengers of Chinese nationality tested positive for Covid-19 during their transit at Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport on Sunday.

But new tests carried out on this intriguing "cluster" revealed that only four of these people were ultimately carriers of the coronavirus.

The "cluster" was ultimately not one.

Sunday, 49 Chinese passengers, in transit to Shanghai, tested positive for Covid-19 at the Parisian airport of Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle, as Europe 1 revealed to you on Monday. Passengers from different countries

The situation immediately raised questions because the passengers had no connection between them, other than getting ready to board the same plane to return to China.

Some came from Peru, others from Colombia, Turkey or even Mauritius.

And before boarding their first flight, all had performed a negative PCR test.

The likelihood that the same test would be positive for 49 of them, so soon after, seemed very low.

The hypothesis of "false positives" was therefore quickly considered ... and proved to be correct.

Checks are underway to understand the process that led to the erroneous results of these PCR tests, which are considered reliable.

Passengers will finally be able to take off for Shanghai.
