The outgoing US President Donald Trump confirmed that he is preparing to hand over power to a new administration, without mentioning the new president, Joe Biden, reviewing what he described as his accomplishments during his four-year term.

Trump said - in a farewell speech recorded on Monday and announced by the White House on Tuesday evening - that this week a new administration will begin and we are praying for its success in preserving the safety of America.

And in a tone described by the Al-Jazeera correspondent, he found Waqfi calm, in contrast to his previous speeches, Trump stressed that the movement he started is still in its infancy, referring to the slogan he raised from the beginning to make America great.

Referring to his supporters storming the Capitol Building (Congress) on the sixth of this month while certifying Biden's victory, Trump said that political violence is an attack on all that we cherish as Americans and can never be tolerated, adding that all Americans were terrified of the attack on the building. .

Trump began by listing what he described as achievements, both internally and externally.

Domestically, Trump talked about signing the Health Care Funding Act and producing Corona vaccines at record speed, passing reforms to the criminal justice system and appointing 300 federal judges to better interpret the constitution.

He pointed out that he had rebuilt the American army with equipment made in the United States, and fulfilled the desire of the Americans and secured the country's borders in a historical manner, as he put it.

"I fought for your sake and for the sake of our free and independent country," he said, stressing belief in the American identity and focusing on its common heritage.

On the external front, Trump made clear that his administration reformed trade agreements and withdrew from the Paris climate agreement.

"We stood in the face of China and eliminated (Abu Bakr) Al-Baghdadi and killed the most senior terrorist, Qassem Soleimani," he added.

He also considered that the "Abraham Agreement" (the normalization of Israel with some Arab countries) marked a new dawn in the Middle East, and emphasized that he was proud of being the first president who stopped wars and did not fight a new war.

"The world is starting to respect us again, and please do not lose that respect," he added.

Trump and his wife Melania are due to leave the White House on Wednesday morning without receiving President-elect Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, ignoring one of the most ancient American traditions of the power transfer process.

It is customary for the outgoing president to receive his elected counterpart at the White House before they head together to Congress, but Trump decided to break this tradition.

Accordingly, Biden will welcome the White House chief of operations and domestic services, Timothy Harlith, according to CNN, citing sources who said that Trump does not intend to leave Biden a letter in the Oval Office, a tradition that holds great value in the ceremony.

On the other hand, US officials suggested that Vice Trump, Mike Pence, would not attend and say goodbye to the outgoing president, indicating that he would be present at the inauguration of Biden, who left Delaware for Washington in preparation for the inauguration.

The Washington Post quoted White House officials as saying that Vice President Pence is expected to not attend Trump's farewell, at Andrews Air Force Base, on Wednesday morning.
