Since he met Christelle, a shopkeeper from the Gironde commune of Lesparre-Médoc, Patrice, homeless for 30 years, has been able to benefit from a temporary accommodation solution.

Above all, a call on Facebook made it possible to find his daughter Aurore, whom Patrice had not seen for fourteen years.

It's a very beautiful story that has emerged thanks to social networks for ten days.

Friday January 8, Christelle Quillet, shopkeeper in Lesparre-Médoc, a small village in Gironde, accidentally meets Patrice Pérez, 64, homeless for thirty years.

The man believes that he is walking in Bordeaux, while he tries to survive in the town of the shopkeeper.

"After a cordial exchange and a good year, he confided to me that he had spent the night in the airlock of a downtown bank", Christelle tells the newspaper

Sud Ouest

.

Leetchi jackpot

Throughout the conversation, the shopkeeper understands the distress of her interlocutor and struggles to find him accommodation.

On Facebook, she even launched a Leetchi kitty to help finance a hotel room.

Result: 887 euros are collected fairly quickly.

The prize pool allowed him to sleep a few nights in a hotel in Lesparre-Médoc, while the departmental services are looking for a lasting solution to accommodate Patrice.

"A hairdresser even cut his hair and beard for free," said Christelle Quillet to France 3.

The beautiful story could have ended there.

But a few days later, Christelle understands that the homeless seeks to see his daughter again, whom he has not heard from for fourteen years.

Rebelote: the shopkeeper is launching a new message on her Facebook account.

“Patrice is looking for his daughter Aurore, help us!” She wrote.

"Lots of things to catch up"

The miracle occurs in just a few hours: Aurora is found.

She too had been looking for years for the one she had lost sight of after being placed in foster care.

"I had called all the town halls but I had no answer. I was very moved. I was a teenager. I am a young woman. There are a lot of things to catch up", she testified before reviewing his father.

And it is on social networks that we learn that the reunion finally took place last Sunday.

Patrice went to meet his daughter, accompanied by his benefactress Christelle, in Nancy.

The big-hearted woman welcomed this reunion: "Mission accomplished thanks to this great channel, thank you all!"
