Squall: From the cold wave to the rains that will finally melt the snow: is there a risk of flooding in Madrid?
A total of
43 schools and institutes of the Community of Madrid will
not be able to resume face-to-face classes this Wednesday due to "various incidents" derived from the storm Filomena that the Ministry of Education trust to be solved in the "coming days".
Of these, 26 are in the capital, 10 in the East, six in the South and one in the North, although names have not been provided.
Another 21 centers will reopen but partially, because
some of their facilities will
also
be
marked out
due to the effects of the storm.
In most cases, these are incidents in the sports facilities of the buildings.
In Education they emphasize that
98.4% of the 2,550 schools and institutes in Madrid will
be able to resume face-to-face classes that have had to be postponed twice due to the snowfall that collapsed the region on November 8.
In the centers that will not be able to open, the incidents reported have mainly been
breakdowns in the water or heating systems
(23), followed by lack of accessibility (10), problems on the roofs (6) and the risk of snow falling from the roofs (4).
In total,
24 localities have been affected
: Madrid, Alcalá de Henares, Arganda del Rey, Chinchón, Coslada, Fuentidueña de Tajo, Loeches, Mejorada del Campo, Pozuelo del Rey, San Martín de la Vega, Santorcaz, Torrejón de Ardoz, Valdaracete, Valdilecha, Velilla de San Antonio, Villarejo de Salvanés, Villamanrique de Tajo, Alcorcón, Parla, Aranjuez, Ciempozuelos, Fuenlabrada, Tres Cantos and Pinto.
"These are the municipalities that
have suffered the most from the consequences of the snowfall
and low temperatures in recent days," they specify in the regional government.
Likewise, most of the educational centers in which the Community of Madrid authorized to advance the opening scheduled for Thursday by one day (those that teach 3rd and 4th ESO, FP Bachillerato and Special Regime)
will open this Wednesday.
