The police are working intensively to get rid of the hundreds of cars that are stuck outside Osaki City.

At least one person has been killed and dozens injured in the chaos - which occurred despite the authorities imposing temporary speed limits due to prevailing weather conditions.

Prior to the incident, local weather stations had announced that there would be a very strong wind with a strength of around 100 km / h.

There must also have been flat lights in the area. Flat light or "whiteout" in English is when the flat ground is covered with snow and the sky is covered with clouds. This can lead to drivers having problems seeing how the ground is sloping.
