Brigitte Macron went to the Bullion pediatric hospital (Yvelines) on Monday to promote the Yellow Pieces operation, along with the Blues coach Didier Deschamps, a small committee visit due to the coronavirus epidemic.
While last year, their visit to launch the Yellow Pieces 2020 operation in Orléans had been the occasion of a real walkabout, this time the president of the Foundation hospitals of Paris-hospitals of France met the children patients and caregivers in small groups, with a minimum delegation.
The young patients were able to listen to mini-concerts by cellist Gautier Capuçon, in which the wife of the Head of State had asked to participate in the launch of the operation.
Brigitte Macron also distributed autographed cards from Didier Deschamps, 1998 world champion and much sought after by young football fans.
She ended her visit by going to the rooms of the children who cannot move around.
In total, the Bullion pediatric hospital has received € 1.2 million from the foundation in recent years to finance dozens of projects.
On the sidelines of her visit, Brigitte Macron explained that she wanted the Foundation to finance teams of three people in hospitals, responsible for detecting abused children, the new mission that she wants to assign to it.
"It would take teams of three people, a child psychiatrist, a social worker and a nurse, flying teams that circulate in several hospitals. Ideally, it would take one team per department," she said.
The Foundation hopes to launch test operations in hospitals in Paris, in the suburbs and in the regions.
"We are convinced that it will work, if we prove that it works and after that it will open" to a generalization on the whole territory, she wished.
