Erfurt (dpa / th) - In Thuringia, according to information from social associations and municipalities, volunteers in several places support the care workers who are heavily burdened in the corona pandemic.
Volunteers have registered in the Ilm district, in the Saale-Holzland district and in Suhl, for example, as communicated by district administrations and associations on request.
They are used, among others, in retirement homes in Suhl and Hummelshain (Saale-Holzland district) and the municipal hospital in the Ilm district.
Before Christmas, social organizations such as the Diakonie and the League of Free Welfare, as well as the state, called for support for the institutions.
Particularly in demand are people who have been involved in nursing or who are familiar with housekeeping.
