Independent from Wall Street, with a sense of public service,

Janet Yellen

, 74, a Yale graduate, is the first woman to head the Fed, America's central bank.

She was appointed there in 2014 by Barack Obama.

At the head of the Fed, this brilliant economist, orchestrated the exit from the accommodative policy of the post-crisis period.

And all this without causing a monetary crash.

A Democrat, Janet Yellen is also a popular figure in business circles.

Piloting the recovery of the economy in the midst of a health crisis, its mission promises to be difficult.

Joe Biden announced a second $ 1.9 trillion stimulus package to help households, small businesses, and speed up vaccine delivery.

The first challenge for Janet Yellen will be to lead the negotiations of this emergency plan, with elected officials, on behalf of the government.

It will also have to return, as Joe Biden has pledged, to the tax gifts that Donald Trump has granted to the richest.
