The Trump family is preparing to go to Florida in search of a favor from its residents

After Twitter banned his account and accused him by the US House of Representatives, the outgoing US President Donald Trump finds himself more isolated than ever before and leaves Washington next week for Florida, hoping to receive a more hospitable reception from the residents of this sunny state.

A few hours before the inauguration of his Democratic successor, Joe Biden, Trump travels at dawn on Wednesday by plane to his luxury club Maralago, where he intends to settle down.

A number of his children also decided to flee the pro-Democrat US capital, and head to Florida, in the south of the country.

But the reception for the Trump family remains murky.

Last month, residents of Palm Beach, where Trump's Club is located, sent a letter to the city council reminding them that according to an agreement signed in 1993, Marallago should not be the principal residence.

For its part, the club rejects these terms of the agreement.

And this is probably only the beginning.

This week, Palm Beach County officials issued a warning to the club about a New Year's Eve party in which invitees did not wear masks and did not respect social distancing rules.

Trump's son, Donald Jr., posted a video clip of the party showing the participants dancing to the rap songs of Vanilla Ice, who was present on the stage.

The Trump family faces a fine of $ 15,000 for any other violation of the rules related to the "Covid-19" epidemic at the golf complex.

"The Trump family might be surprised to learn that the electoral rolls in the three major southern counties - Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade - are controlled by the Democrats," said Craig Pittman, a Florida native and author of several books on the state.

In an interview with Agence France-Presse, Pitman notes that “the deputy for the district that includes Maralago, Louis Frankel, voted not only once, but twice, in favor of accusing the most famous citizen in the region, Donald Trump.

But during the four years of his rule, Trump nonetheless built a solid base of supporters in Florida, especially among the white in rural areas and the descendants of conservative Latin America.

One of his loyal supporters is Cuban-American from Miami, Enrique Tario, the leader of the Proud Boys, an extreme-right militia group.

The latter was arrested in Washington two days before the attack on the Capitol and was in possession of an ammunition depot for high-powered firearms.

The Republican billionaire arouses fierce emotions among some of his supporters.

A manatee was found in a river in Florida with the word "Trump" engraved on its skin.

The American weekly Pebble, which publishes celebrity news, has press material to write about.

Right now, the magazine is focused on Tiffany Trump, the fourth of the president's sons, aged 27.

According to Page Six (page 6), she lives in South Beach.

Last month, the same website reported that Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, an advisor to the president, had bought land worth $ 30 million to build a home in Indian Creek Village, an island north of Miami Beach known as one of the most expensive places in the country.

Donald Trump Jr. and his partner Kimberly Guilfoyle will be looking for a place to settle in North Palm Beach.

All of this raises questions about what the Trump family will do in Florida, and whether they intend to capitalize on their popularity with a portion of the population of this state.

"Maybe when they find a good place to settle, the Trump family will find other opportunities," said Pitman.

According to American media, Ivanka Trump intends to win one of the two Florida seats in the Senate, which is currently occupied by Marco Rubio.

However, the election date is still a long way off, in November 2022.
